Lucky Kitchen Loot

The Ancient Greek and Egyptian people saw the kitchen as the heart of every home, where the nutrition is “pumped” to the members of the entire house and the soul is cleansed with different sources of Feng Shui energy. Mothers used to purchase statues of gods or higher spiritual beings from temples and place them in the kitchen of their houses hoping these divine spirits would guard the family and look after the well-being of the members.

At this day and age, we seem more interested in stocking up on kitchen gadgets or appliances rather than spiritual trinkets with promises of good fortune. Some kitchens of modern-day houses look more like hospital clinics rather than warm, homey living spaces where magic is created. The soul of the home has been thrown away for easy-living stuff. Invite back the soulful energy that nourishes family members by recreating the kitchen – less clutter, more love.

Feng Shui Tips for the Kitchen

Good nutrition is equal to good fortune and good Feng Shui. A healthy diet full of organic food such as fruits and vegetables must be applied to our lives. These kinds of food provide the strong healing vibrations that our bodies need. Food preparation is just as important as the food itself, and this is why I came up with a short list of tips to follow for a better kitchen:

1.    The kitchen is a tricky place to light up. There are so many levels and kinds of lighting required that it can be confusing. The trick is to keep the feel of the room warm, airy, spacious, welcoming and bright.

2.    Do not have too many gadgets and kitchen utensils around. Keep the place simple.

3.    Always clean up after yourself; clutter is never good for Feng Shui.

4.    Place a bowl of fruits or a bouquet of fresh flowers to brighten up the place.

5.    Choose colors that are god for the kitchen as well as your digestion. Examples of these colors are butter yellow and squash yellow.

Good Bathroom, Bad Location

When the bathroom is in the center of a house, experts and consultants consider this to be bad Feng Shui. The center of the house is like the heart of the living space's Feng Shui. It is the place where yin meets yang and where all the other living spaces gather energy from. Having the bathroom right in front of the main entrance is also considered bad luck, A bathroom in the center of the house is usually considered bad Feng Shui. To make up for the bad location, try the following tips:

1.    Help prevent you or your household members from losing out on opportunities by making sure the bathroom door and toilet lid always remain closed so that the positive energy will not escape your home.

2.    Ample lighting, cleanliness and good ventilation are always important. Since the location is not too favorable, make sure the ventilation system allows Chi to flow throughout the house. Make sure there are a lot of mirrors to reflect the Chi as well.

3.    Most importantly, place a full length mirror on the bathroom door. This will deflect the Chi and provide an illusion that the bathroom is not there.
